Declaring America’s freedom is a 20’ X 30’ American flag towering daily over the hills of Cape County Park. An inspirational avenue of over 800 flags fly on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day at the entrance to North Park. Each flag bears the name of a Cape County veteran.

The purpose of the Cape Girardeau County Park Department is to perpetuate, conserve, manage, and enhance Cape Girardeau County’s parks and outdoor recreational opportunities for the use, benefit, and enjoyment of the people of this county and its visitors, and to give the highest priority to the welfare of this county’s parks and their environment, in planning and decisions.
