Voter ID Card Correction For Voters in City of Cape Girardeau, Precinct 5C in Ward 5 and Precinct 3C in Ward 3
New Voter ID Cards for City of Cape Girardeau voters in Precinct 5C in Ward 5 and Precinct 3C in Ward 3 were printed with incorrect polling locations. While Ward changes were implemented by the City of Cape Girardeau, Polling Locations for these Precincts did not change. However, new Voter ID Cards incorrectly indicate a change of Polling Location. Voters of Precinct 5C vote at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 804 N. Cape Rock Drive. Voters of Precinct 3C vote at the New Cape Girardeau City Hall, 44 N. Lorimier. New Voter ID Cards with the correct Polling Location will be mailed out this week. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at (573) 243-3547 Option 2. We apologize for this inconvenience.
City of Cape Girardeau Voting Precinct Boundaries to Change After the November 8, 2022 Election
New ward boundaries have recently went into effect in the City of Cape Girardeau following the 2020 census. As a result, the Cape Girardeau County Clerkâs Office will be adjusting the voting precinct boundaries to reflect the ward changes. However, no change to the Voting Precincts or Polling Locations will occur until after the November 8, 2022 General Election to avoid confusion for voters.
For the November 8, 2022 General Election, all voting precincts and polling locations for voters within the City of Cape Girardeau will remain the same unless a change must occur due to unforeseen circumstances. Voters would be notified of any change to their polling location.
Following the election, our office will adjust the voting precinct lines, so they do not cross political subdivision (ward) or special district boundaries, in compliance with 115.113 RSMo. Many factors will be taken into consideration during this process which includes the location and capacity of the eight polling places in the City and the convenience of voters. Our office will work diligently to keep the changes minimal.
If any voter is unsure of their current polling location, they can refer to their most recent Voter Identification Card or call our office at (573)243-3547.
