Covid-19 Update-EMA Director
County Emergency Management Director Mark Winkler provided a current update for Cape Girardeau County COVID-19 cases. He stated the current positive count in Cape Girardeau County is 73 with 97 probable cases (serology test) and 3 deaths. There will be a drive thru testing at the Arena Park on June 5th, 2020 in Cape Girardeau for all residents. The 2nd serology test has been done on approximately 50-60 emergency personnel and as of today no positive cases reported. Cape Girardeau County has tested a total of 3,559 people with 4.5% test rate.
PPE supply is good. Other EMA business, the river is supposed to crest at 37 feet Wednesday in the am.
Closed Session Minutes Approved
A motion was made by Commissioner Charles Herbst and seconded by Commissioner Paul Koeper to approve closed session minutes from meeting held on May 18, 2020 regarding Legal Litigation. Motion passed. Minutes in closed session file.
CARES Act Funds Application Approved
Presiding Commisiosenr Clint Tracy presented a CARES Act application package drafted by the county attorney for anyone wishing to apply for funds from the CARES Act funds. A motion was made by Commissioner Paul Koeper and seconded by Commissioner Charles Herbst to approve the CARES Act Fund application package as presented. Motion passed. Filed.
Purchase of 12 LUCAS Chest Compression Units Approved
The local City Fire Departments and Rural Fire Departments personnel presented for approval a quote for the purchase of (12) Stryker LUCAS chest compression units to be paid frmm the CARES Act Fund. After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Charles Herbst and seconded by Commissioner Paul Koeper approve the purchase of (12) Stryker LUCAS chest compression units with cost not to exceed $200,000 from the CARES Act funds, contingent on application for CARES Act Funds being submitted and approved. Motion passed. Quote filed.
Purchase of Bookshelves for Judges Approved
Commissioner Charles Herbst submitted a quote from MVE for purchase of bookshelves for the Judges at the new courthouse. The cost for 6 units is $1,842.00. After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner Herbst and seconded by Commisiosenr Koeper to approve the purchase of 6 bookshelves from MVE in the amount of $1,842.00 to be paid form the 2018 bond fund project. Motion passed. Filed.
