2026 Cape Girardeau County Elections

NOTICE OF ELECTION FOR NOVEMBER 3, 2026 General Election

Tuesday, November 3, 2026 – General Election

The County of Cape Girardeau is holding a General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Election Day Polls Open 6:00 AM until 7:00 PM

Last Day to Register to Vote if you are newly registering in Missouri: OCTOBER 7

Any citizen of the U.S., resident of Missouri, and 17.5 years of age can register to vote. You must be 18 years of age on or before election day to vote.

Last Day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed: OCTOBER 21

VOTING BEFORE ELECTION DAY

Absentee Voting By-Mail or In Person with a lawful excuse begins September 22, 2026. 

In-Person Early Voting (No Excuse Absentee Voting) begins Tuesday, October 20 through Monday, November 2. 

During the two week period prior to Election Day, Cape Girardeau County registered voters can vote at one of the following Early Voting Locations. Remember to bring your Photo ID.

County Clerk Main Office, 1908 Courthouse (Copper Dome), 100 Court St., Ste. 301, Jackson, MO (Elevator Access – North Building Entrance)

Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Saturday, October 31st 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Monday, November 2nd 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

ELECTION DAY VOTING 

TUESDAY, November 3, 2026 IS ELECTION DAY – VOTING HOURS 6:00 am – 7:00 pm AT YOUR ASSIGNED POLLING PLACE

OR

VOTE AT A CENTRAL POLL ON ELECTION DAY

  • County Satellite Office, 2311 Bloomfield Rd. Ste. 102, Cape Girardeau, MO

 Bring one form of Photo Identification when voting:

  • NONEXPIRED MISSOURI DRIVER’S LICENSE OR MISSOURI NON-DRIVER’S LICENSE
  • NONEXPIRED UNITED STATES PASSPORT
  • MILITARY ID CONTAINING A PHOTO OF THE INDIVIDUAL AND IS NOT EXPIRED OR DOES NOT CONTAIN AN EXPIRATION DATE

OR A DOCUMENT THAT SATISFIES ALL OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • The document contains the name of the individual to whom the document was issued, and the name substantially conforms to the most recent signature in the voter registration record;
  • The document shows a photograph of the individual;
  • The document includes an expiration date, and the document is not expired, or, if expired, the document expired after the date of the most recent general election (November 5, 2024); and
  • The document was issued by the United States or the state of Missouri
