To update your address or name, you can complete a new voter registration application. This can be done online, by mail, or in-person.

You can update your registration online through the Missouri Secretary of State’s Office webpage.
Update My Registration By Mail
You can update your registration by mail by completing a post card voter registration application. A mail-in application can be obtained online through the Missouri Secretary of State’s Office webpage or by requesting an application from the County Clerk’s Office by calling (573)243-3547. You may also write your new address on the back of your current voter registration card and mail it to the County Clerk’s Office (#1 Barton Square, Suite 301, Jackson, MO 63755).

You can update your registration in-person at one of the following locations:

Will I receive confirmation after changing my address or name?
After submitting an update to your address or name, a new voter identification card will be issued to you. If you do not receive confirmation by mail, please call the County Clerk’s Office to verify the status of your registration change.
Is there a deadline to change my registration prior to Election Day?
If you move within Cape Girardeau County, you are permitted to change your registration any time up to or on Election Day. It is recommended that you notify the County Clerk’s Office of any address change prior to Election Day in order to determine your assigned polling place. Address changes must be requested in writing. If your name has changed, you may vote one time using your old name after informing the election judges at your polling location on Election Day of your new name and completing a registration change.
What is the deadline to register to vote if I am not currently registered in Cape Girardeau County?
If you move from one county in Missouri to another county in Missouri, you must register with your new county of residence. You must complete a new voter registration application prior to the registration deadline which is 5:00 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday prior to the election date. You can register to vote by submitting a new voter registration application online, by mail, or in-person.
