is to receive, conserve, and make available to the public the important collection of Cape Girardeau County’s history in its original documents that are open to the public, such as probate; divorces; annulments; marriage certificates; taxes – personal and property; lawsuits; maps; past criminal cases and other documents not named in this list; share family histories owned by the Cape County Genealogical Society, etc., and assist patrons in their search for their past.
