About the Riverside Regional Library Board

The Riverside Regional Library Board of Trustees consists of five persons from Cape Girardeau County, five persons from Perry County and five persons from Scott County. The purpose of the library board is to secure the best possible library for the community it serves. Its primary concern is the formulation of a program of library service and provision of means for carrying out such a program. Their purpose encompasses decision making in five areas; setting policy, budgeting and managing funds, hiring and working with an administrative librarian, carrying out public relations and long and short range planning, as per statutes 182.010 through 182.130. Funds collected are from a library tax. Actual budget expenditures in 2010 were $1,101,545.29.
