About the County Law Enforcement Crime Restitution Board
The County Law Enforcement Crime Restitution Board is a five person board that oversees the Cape Girardeau County Law Enforcement Restitution Fund. The funds are to be expended on law enforcement related expenditures only, such as investigation, charging, preparation, trial and disposition of criminal cases, narcotics prevention and intervention, purchase of law enforcement related equipment and supplies for the Sheriff’s Department, matching funds for grants, etc., as per statutes 50.535 through 50.565. Funds collected are from court case fees. The income generated in this account for 2010 was $65,403.62.
