Julia A. Meiners

Julia Meiners began working as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Cape Girardeau County on October 9, 2007.

Julia grew up in St. Louis, graduating from Cor Jesu Academy in 2000. She earned an undergraduate degree in Finance from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Julia attended Creighton on an athletic scholarship, where she was a member of the Creighton University Women's Soccer Team and named a Collegiate Outstanding Student-Athlete for academic and athletic success. She graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law in May 2007 and passed the July 2007 bar exam. While in law school she interned at SLU's Legal Clinic with a Rule 13 certificate, holding her own caseload of domestic, traffic, and guardian ad litem cases. She participated in Trial Advocacy and Moot Court competitions.

"Throughout law school, I knew I wanted to be in the courtroom, trying cases," Julia says. "I feel very fortunate to have this job right out of law school, which enables me to do what I truly enjoy doing."

When not working, Julia enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, being outdoors, and running.
