JOHN N. "JACK" KOESTER, JR.
Jack Koester began serving as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Cape Girardeau County on December 16, 2002.
Jack earned his undergraduate (Political Science) and law degrees at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He graduated from law school in May of 2002. While in law school he participated in Trial Practice and interned at the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office during summer breaks.
Jack grew up in St. Louis, graduating from Pattonville High School in 1995.
Jack has been a workhorse at the prosecutor's office. In his first five years as a prosecutor, he tried more than 30 jury trials. He handles a wide variety of cases, ranging from misdemeanor DWIs to violent felonies.
When Jack started at the office, he announced his goal of having 30 jury trials by the time he was 30 years old. Unfortunately, his endeavor ended in failure, as he stalled on number 28. Swingle decided to keep him on the staff, anyway.
"Jack is a terrific trial lawyer," Swingle says. "I would match his trial skills against anyone."
