Other Accomplishments with Cape Girardeau County:
- Prepare the annual budget and oversee the Cape County Highway Department
- Collaborate with all Office Holders for the betterment of Cape Girardeau County Community
- I am currently trying to reinvent our safety program to insure workers get home safely
- Teaching First Aid and CPR to all Employees and reduce insurance premiums.
- Initiated a speed limit committee to discuss setting speed limits on our county roads. Prop.1 sales tax has allowed for more roads to paved, which results in increased speeds.
- Analyzing cost saving measures such as the use of hot mix for patching, overlaying and paving. This would require a first year purchase of some equipment, but a tremendous saving on material costs.
- Starting a committee to study security issues in county courthouses
- Working with the City of Delta to secure a Community Development Block grant coupled with a NRCS $1,000,000 grant, to help alleviate storm water problems for the City of Delta.
Other Accomplishments with Penzel Construction:
- Supervised highway and building projects in Missouri, Kentucky and Arkansas.
